Shilpi Arora has spent eighteen years practising as an Accredited Practising Dietitian, working across public and private clinical settings before building Karma Nutrition on the Gold Coast. Her Master's in Nutrition and Dietetics from Bond University sits alongside further training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), eating disorders, and mindfulness-based nutrition therapy.
That combination is the point. Most dietary advice treats the body as a set of inputs and outputs — calories, macros, blood markers. Shilpi's clinical background means a consultation can also address the psychological and cultural context those numbers sit inside: why a diabetes plan built for a Western pantry doesn't survive contact with a real South Asian kitchen, or why stress and gut symptoms so often arrive together.
She sees patients in English, Hindi and Punjabi at Gold Coast clinics in Arundel, Currumbin Waters and Biggera Waters and by telehealth, under Medicare Chronic Disease Management referrals, DVA provider arrangements, and privately. Referring GPs across the Gold Coast — including SmartClinics Arundel, Our Medical Gold Coast and My GP Parkwood — routinely send patients her way for exactly this reason; read what they say on the referring GPs page.
